John Carter (Monday May 14th Post)

What Did I Watch? John Carter
When? Saturday, May 5, 2012
Where? US-23 Drive-In Theater In Flint, MI

John Carter in all honesty was a movie I never thought I would watch. I saw it this past Saturday only because it was paired at the drive-in with something I sort of wanted to see, "The Avengers." As you can tell by the movie poster above, there are some weird creatures that John Carter encounters in Mars. John Carter was based off of a book, one that I wish I had read so I understood more of the two-hour plus run-time. So, would I recommend it? It depends on who I was talking to. First, I would recommend to them to watch the trailer (Included Below...) If they enjoy that, I would say sure, try out the movie as well, but if they didn't enjoy the trailer or haven't read the book, I wouldn't recommend them wasting their time. I think I may have enjoyed it more if I did experience it in IMAX 3D, since there are many characters who are gorgeously presented. That was my favorite part about John Carter, the flawlessness look of it all, the storyline was just ok, but the backdrop and the Disney technology they use, no wonder John Carter cost Disney $250 Million to make.
